Plan seminar |
|
The Constitutional Affairs Bureau (CAB) and the Civil Service
Training and Development Institute (CSTDI) will jointly
organise a seminar next Tuesday (March 28) to enhance the
understanding of civil servants on the National Eleventh
Five-year Plan (the "11th FYP"). Deputy Director General of
the Department of Development and Planning, National
Development and Reform Commission, Mr Xu Lin, will serve as
the keynote speaker for the seminar. He will brief
participating civil servants on the 11th FYP, and will discuss
its impact on Hong Kong.
"The country's development during the period covered by the 11th FYP will have profound impact on Hong Kong. The HKSAR Government should enhance our understanding of the 11th FYP, so as to equip ourselves for fully capitalising Hong Kong's advantages of 'leveraging on the Mainland and engaging ourselves globally'," said Secretary for Constitutional Affairs Mr Stephen Lam. "With a better understanding of the 11th FYP through the seminar, colleagues in relevant bureaux and departments can take this into account in planning for the HKSAR on various fronts, with a view to better capitalizing our advantages in financial services, trade, logistics and professional services, to concur with the development of our country. This will also help maintain the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong." Mr Xu has taken part in the compilation of the Eighth, Ninth, Tenth and Eleventh Five-year Plans, and has extensive experience in the formulation of national five-year plans. During his visit in Hong Kong, Mr Xu will take part in a few seminars on the 11th FYP organized by university, social and youth organizations. He will also be briefed by a number of Government bureaus/departments, and will visit key infrastructural facilities in Hong Kong. Ends/Wednesday, March 22, 2006 |
