Task force's Fourth Report on constitutional development published

The Constitutional Development Task Force today (December 15) issued its Fourth Report on the views and proposals of members of the community on the methods for selecting the Chief Executive in 2007 and for forming the Legislative Council in 2008.

Copies of the report are available for collection by the public at the Public Enquiry Service Centres (PESCs) of the 18 District Offices (which will extend their opening hours to 7pm today). People may also access the report on the constitutional development website (www.cab-review.gov.hk).

People are welcome to forward their views or specific proposals to the Constitutional Development Task Force Secretariat on or before March 31, 2005. They may send their submissions by post to the Task Force Secretariat at Constitutional Affairs Bureau, 3/F, Main Wing, Central Government Offices, Lower Albert Road, Hong Kong, by fax to 2523 3207, or via the internet.

The public views collected and the main points discussed at the series of seminars and group discussions during the consultation period for the Third Report between May 11 and October 15 this year have been compiled in the Appendices to the Fourth Report. Public submissions received after the close of the consultation period have also been published in an addendum to the Appendices.

The Appendices (and the addendum) are available for inspection at the PESCs of the 18 District Offices and may be accessed on the constitutional development website.
