SCMA to visit New Zealand and Australia to study electoral system and promote Hong Kong

The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Raymond Tam, will depart Hong Kong on September 20 (Tuesday) for a five-day visit to New Zealand and Australia.

During his stay in New Zealand, Mr Tam will meet with representatives of New Zealand's electoral body to exchange views on election-related matters. He will also have meetings with related officials and representatives to get first-hand knowledge about New Zealand's parliamentary operation.

Mr Tam will take the opportunity to meet with business people in New Zealand to promote Hong Kong's advantages and opportunities arising from the National 13th Five-Year Plan and the Belt and Road Initiative. He will also attend the Hong Kong-Australia Business Association (National) Business Awards Gala Dinner in Sydney, Australia, and deliver a keynote speech.

Mr Tam will return to Hong Kong in the evening on September 24. During his absence, the Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Ronald Chan, will be the Acting Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs.
