Transcript of remarks by SCMA at media session |
Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Raymond Tam, at a media session this morning (September 5): Reporter: Some localist candidates have won a considerable number of votes and some have won seats as well. How would you envision the Government's working relationship with the legislature in the (next) four years? Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs: As the counting procedures are still ongoing, it is too early to comment on your particular question. But according to exit polls and the counting results published by the REO (Registration and Electoral Office) so far, I guess the new term of Legislative Council would compose of existing and new Legislative Council Members. Therefore, there will be an issue of adaptation both within the legislature and with the executive. We would deal with the issue when it comes. Thank you very much.
