Recruitment of participants for study on discrimination experienced by sexual minorities in Hong Kong

In June last year, the Advisory Group on Eliminating Discrimination Against Sexual Minorities was established to advise the Government on matters relating to concerns about discrimination faced by sexual minorities in Hong Kong, notably the aspects and extent of discrimination faced by sexual minorities, and strategies and measures to tackle the problems identified with a view to eliminating discrimination and nurturing a culture of diversity, tolerance and mutual respect in the community.

After deliberations, the Advisory Group has proposed that a study be conducted to gather information about whether sexual minorities are discriminated against in Hong Kong and, if so, the discrimination they experienced including the domains and forms of discrimination, and how they responded to it. The Advisory Group has also rendered advice on how such a study should be conducted.

The Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau has commissioned Policy 21 Limited (the Consultant) to conduct the study.

The Consultant is recruiting sexual minorities who are aged 18 or above (including gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgenders, post-gays and people with other sexual orientation and gender identity) to participate in the study. Interested members of the public may contact the Consultant on 2370 8652, or complete the online application form (www.policy21.org/discrimination).
