ECCPC Chairman meets with THEC Chairman (with photo)

The following is issued on behalf of the Secretariat to the Hong Kong-Taiwan Economic and Cultural Co-operation and Promotion Council:

     The Chairman of the Hong Kong-Taiwan Economic and Cultural Co-operation and Promotion Council (ECCPC), Mr Charles Lee, met with the Chairman of the Taiwan-Hong Kong Economic and Cultural Co-operation Council (THEC), Mr Liu Te-shun, in Taipei this afternoon (August 19) to review the progress of various co-operation areas between Hong Kong and Taiwan in preparation for the fourth joint meeting of the two Councils to be held in Hong Kong in late September.

     Mr Lee said he was pleased with the remarkable achievements made by Hong Kong and Taiwan on various public policy co-operation areas through the ECCPC-THEC platform. These achievements have brought real benefits to the people of the two places.

     Mr Lee was confident that in the spirit of goodwill, mutual benefit and pragmatism, both sides could further promote the development of Hong Kong-Taiwan relations at the joint meeting to be held next month.
