The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Stephen Lam, continued his visit to Shanghai today (August 20). He visited the infrastructure projects and met with officials of the Shanghai Municipal Government to better understand the later developments in the city. Mr Lam went to visit the Yangshan Deep Water Port in the morning and was briefed by staff members on the Donghai Bridge and the operation of the container terminal. He later met and had lunch with the Vice-Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Shanghai, cum Vice Chairperson of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai China Executive Committee, Mr Zhou Hanmin. In the afternoon, Mr Lam proceeded to the Hongqiao Integrated Transport Hub, to see for himself the transport infrastructure development in Shanghai and how this would serve the Yangtze River Delta Region. Mr Lam will conclude his visit and return to Hong Kong on August 22. Ends/Friday, August 20, 2010
