| SCMA to attend China International Fair for Investment and Trade in Xiamen |

The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Stephen Lam, will lead the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (HKSARG) delegation to attend the 13th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) in Xiamen tomorrow (September 7). On September 8, Mr Lam will attend the opening ceremony of the CIFIT and visit the Hong Kong Pavilion. He will address a seminar, entitled "Hong Kong – Your Platform to Go Global: Capitalise on Hong Kong's Financial Services for International Expansion". The seminar is co-organised by the Department of Outward Investment and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce, the Commercial Office of Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong, Invest Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong (GDETO) of the HKSARG. While in Xiamen, Mr Lam will meet with leaders of the Fujian Provincial Government and officials from the Ministry of Commerce. The HKSARG delegation also comprises officials from the GDETO, the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau and the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau. Mr Lam will leave Hong Kong around noon tomorrow and will return on September 8. Ends/Sunday, September 6, 2009 |
