Carnival on Saturday to promote Basic Law

The Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau and the Education Bureau will jointly hold another carnival to convey the message that the Basic Law is closely related to Hong Kong people’s daily lives and to enhance the public's knowledge and understanding of the Basic Law in a lively and interactive manner.

The carnival this time will be held in Kowloon at the Kowloon Park Piazza, Tsim Sha Tsui, from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday (February 21). Admission is free and all are welcome.

The final round of the "Inter-School Basic Law Game Booth Design Competition 2008-2009 (Primary School Category)" will be held at the same time. Finalists from eight primary schools will operate game booths they designed and decorated. The public may learn more about the Basic Law through the games and win prizes. Souvenirs will also be distributed to participants on site.

Entertainers, including Hins Cheung, Eric Suen, Ella Koon and Theresa Fu, will perform and play games with participants at the carnival.

The last carnival was held on Hong Kong Island, at the Southorn Playground, Wan Chai, on December 20, 2008.

Ends/Thursday, February 19, 2009
