- Liaise with OCMFA on the conduct of HKSAR’s external affairs
- Oversee the policy on functions and housekeeping of the Mainland Offices and the Hong Kong Economic, Trade and Cultural Office in Taiwan (the Mainland and Taiwan Offices)
- Handle matters relating to the conduct of Hong Kong/Taiwan relations
- Provide secretariat support for the Hong Kong-Taiwan Economic and Cultural Cooperation and Promotion Council and the Exchanges with Taiwan Funding Scheme
- Oversee the handling of follow-up actions by the Mainland Offices on cases of seeking assistance by Hong Kong residents in the Mainland
