Taiwan authorities and political party members should not interfere in HK affairs

On the remarks made by Taiwan authorities and political party members concerning the qualifications of Legislative Council member in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), a spokesman for the HKSAR Government gave the following response to media enquiries today (November 15):
Since the return to the Motherland, the HKSAR has been exercising a high degree of autonomy and "Hong Kong people administering Hong Kong" in accordance with the Basic Law. This demonstrates the successful implementation of the "one country, two systems" principle, which is widely recognised.
Taiwan authorities and political parties should not interfere in any form in the affairs of Hong Kong.
