SCMA to visit Shanghai, Jinan and Beijing

     The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Raymond Tam, will visit Shanghai, Jinan and Beijing from tomorrow (April 19) to April 23 to strengthen ties with the relevant provincial and municipal governments, promote exchanges and co-operation with them and learn about the latest developments in the three places.

     During the visit, Mr Tam will meet with officials of the provincial and municipal governments as well as central ministries. He will officiate at the opening ceremony of the Shandong Liaison Unit under the Shanghai Economic and Trade Office of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in Jinan on April 21.

     Mr Tam will also take the opportunity to meet with Hong Kong people working, doing business and studying in the three places to understand more about their work and life there.

     The Permanent Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Ms Chang King-yiu, will also join the visit.

     During Mr Tam's absence, the Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Ronald Chan, will be the Acting Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs.
