At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Permanent Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Ms Chang King-yiu, will lead a delegation of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) to Beijing in the afternoon of November 10.

While in Beijing, the 11-member delegation will call on various departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be briefed on the current foreign policies of China as well as the Ministry's latest work. The delegation will also make courtesy calls on the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council. The delegation will visit Shenyang in Liaoning Province from November 13 to 15, to call on provincial and municipal leaders as well as to conduct site visits to learn about the latest developments in that region.

A spokesman for the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau today (November 8) said the visit is being conducted under the established arrangement for reciprocal visits between the HKSAR Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since 1999, officials from the HKSAR Government and those from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been conducting reciprocal visits once a year to enhance communication and mutual understanding.
