ECCPC and THEC to hold fourth joint meeting in Hong Kong

The following is issued on behalf of the Secretariat to the Hong Kong-Taiwan Economic and Cultural Cooperation and Promotion Council:

The Hong Kong-Taiwan Economic and Cultural Cooperation and Promotion Council (ECCPC) and the Taiwan-Hong Kong Economic and Cultural Co-operation Council (THEC) will convene their fourth joint meeting in Hong Kong on September 27. The meeting will be co-chaired by the ECCPC Chairperson, Mr Charles Lee, and the THEC Chairman, Mr Liu Te-shun. The ECCPC Honorary Chairperson, Mr John C Tsang, will deliver opening remarks at the meeting.

At the meeting, the two Councils will review the achievements and progress made on various co-operation areas in the past year, and make recommendations on the direction of co-operation between the two sides in the coming year.

The ECCPC-THEC platform for Hong Kong and Taiwan was established in 2010 to discuss co-operation on public policy matters between the two sides. The two Councils have already held three joint meetings and agreed on taking forward various priority co-operation areas on economic, cultural, tourism, social livelihood, and city management fronts.
