Following is a question by the Hon Sin Chung-kai and a written reply by the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Raymond Tam, in the Legislative Council today (May 29): Question: Currently, half of the 70 seats of the Legislative Council are functional constituency (FC) seats. In this connection, will the Government inform this Council of the following data in each year from 2008 to 2012: (a) the percentages of the value added of the relevant industries under various FCs in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) (set out in Table 1); (b) the percentages of the numbers of employees in the relevant industries under various FCs in the labour force (set out in Table 2); and (c) the numbers of (i) eligible electors and (ii) registered electors of various FCs when the final register of electors was published (set out in Table 3)?
