Former Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council issues 2012-13 term report

     The following is issued on behalf of the former Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council:

The Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council Term Report

     The former Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council (Business Council) today (April 18) issued a report on its work for the last term of 2012 - 2013.

     Dr Victor Fung, the Chairman of the former Business Council, extended his heartfelt gratitude to all who served as Members for their active participation in the work of the Business Council. He also said that he had been privileged to contribute to the development of Guangdong/Hong Kong co-operation by serving on the Council.

     In the past year, the Business Council had an exchange of views with the relevant authorities and reflected the views of the trade on major issues surrounding Guangdong/Hong Kong co-operation, including cross-boundary passenger and cargo flow, joint investment and trade promotion, sustainable development, services industry development and human resources. The Business Council also released a study report titled "Tapping the Domestic Market of the Pearl River Delta Region by Leveraging the Strengths of Hong Kong" in March this year and put forth a number of practical suggestions for the reference of trade, business associations, industry support organisations and the governments of Hong Kong and Guangdong.
