     The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Stephen Lam, held a meeting with the Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, Mr Xu Xianping, today (November 17) to discuss the Hong Kong SAR's work in complementing the compilation of the National 12th Five-Year Plan.

     The meeting went smoothly. On the basis of an earlier meeting in July this year, the HKSAR Government was further briefed by the National Development and Reform Commission on the latest developments regarding the compilation of the National 12th Five-Year Plan, and put forward proposals on incorporating Hong Kong in the key content of the Plan, so as to further enhance Hong Kong's contribution to the modernisation of the motherland.

     Representatives from a number of bureaux and departments, including the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau, the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, the Environment Bureau and the Transport and Housing Bureau also attended the meeting.
