USCMA visits a secondary school in West Kowloon (with photos)

The Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Raymond Tam, visited Sir Ellis Kadoorie Secondary School (West Kowloon) today (May 27). The school was the first government secondary school offering local secondary curriculum for students of different ethnic races. About 60 per cent of the students were non-Chinese speaking children. Due to the diverse abilities of the students, the school had implemented streaming and split-class teaching for the English Language and Mathematics. Three difference levels of the Chinese Language curriculum were also introduced to cater for the varied needs of the students. Besides, the school was dedicated to promoting cultural diversity and racial harmony and to creating an environment for students to develop their talents.Photo shows Mr Tam visiting the library of the school and reading an information booklet on different services in Hong Kong which was written in an Indian language.
