Task Force's Third Report on constitutional development published

The Constitutional Development Task Force today (May 11) published its Third Report. The report sets out the areas which may be considered for amendment in respect of the methods for the selection of the Chief Executive in 2007 and for forming the Legislative Council in 2008.

They include, for example, changes to the formation of the Election Committee for selecting the Chief Executive in 2007, and to the number of seats and composition of the Legislative Council in 2008.

Copies of the report are available for collection by the public at the Public Enquiry Service Centres (PESCs) of the 18 District Offices (which will extend their opening hours to 7pm today). The public may also access the report on the constitutional development website (http://www.cab-review.gov.hk/).

Members of the public are welcome to forward their views or specific proposals to the Constitutional Development Task Force Secretariat on or before August 31. They may send in their submissions by post to the secretariat at 3/F Main Wing, Central Government Offices, Lower Albert Road, Central, Hong Kong, or by fax to 2523 3207, or via the internet.

The Task Force has continued to receive written submissions from the public after the publication of the Task Force's Second Report. These public submissions are available for inspection at the PESC of Wan Chai District Office, Ground Floor, 2 O'Brien Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong.
