Members of Organising Committee for HK-Taiwan Inter-city Forum depart for Taichung City

In his capacity as the Chairman of the Organising Committee for the Hong Kong-Taiwan Inter-city Forum, the Permanent Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Joshua Law, will lead a seven-member working group to visit Taichung City today (February 23).

While in Taichung, the group will have a working meeting with the relevant parties of the Taichung City Government to discuss the details of the first Hong Kong-Taiwan Inter-city Forum to be held in Hong Kong.

In accordance with the consensus reached between Taichung Mayor Jason Hu and the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Stephen Lam during the mayor's visit in January this year, Mr Lam has written to Mayor Hu to invite him to visit Hong Kong. The initial plan is to hold the inter-city forum in April.

The working group will return to Hong Kong tomorrow (February 24).

Ends/Monday, February 23, 2009
