Carnival on Saturday to promote Basic Law

The Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau and the Education Bureau will jointly hold two carnivals to convey the message that the Basic Law is closely related to daily lives in Hong Kong and enhance the public's knowledge and understanding of the Basic Law in a lively and interactive manner.

The first carnival will be held at the mini-soccer pitch of the Southorn Playground, Wan Chai, from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday (December 20). Admission is free and all are welcome.

The final round of the "Inter-School Basic Law Game Booth Design Competition 2008-2009 (Secondary School Category)" will also be held at the carnival. More than 100 students from 10 secondary schools will run Basic Law game booths which they designed and decorated. People may learn more about the Basic Law through the games and win prizes. Participants will also receive souvenirs.

Entertainers, including Jade Kwan, EO 2, Fama, Juno Mak, Elanne Kong, Percy Fan, Det and Terry Chui, will perform during the carnival.

The second carnival will be held at the Piazza of Kowloon Park, Tsim Sha Tsui, on Saturday, February 21, 2009.
