Morale of GFS crewman officers in Chengdu boosted up (with photos)

    The Director of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Chengdu, Mr Richard Luk, today (May 29) visited the Guanghan Airport in Chengdu to extend his gratitude and appreciation to the HKSAR Government Flying Service (GFS) officers deployed to Sichuan to provide assistance in the rescue and relief work in the earthquake-stricken areas.

    Upon arrival, Mr Luk was first briefed by the Chief Operation Officer, Mr West Wu, on the work of the search and rescue operations.

    Mr Luk appreciated that the GFS eight-member team had effectively and efficiently provided support to the rescue, relief and quarantine operations and that they would continue with the meaningful life-saving missions.

    Expressing his heartfelt gratitude to the officers for their bravery and professionalism in the search and rescue operations, Mr Luk said, "We are all proud of your meritorious and commendable deeds in helping the earthquake victims."

    The GFS team comprising pilots, aircrew and aircraft engineers stationed at Guanghan Airport of Chengdu, Sichuan, had airlifted 91 people to safety and completed 15? operations as at today.
