Public Consultation on Demarcation of District boundary between Eastern and Wan Chai Districts

The Administration consulted the Wan Chai District Council on 2 July 2013 and the Eastern District Council on 4 July and 3 October 2013 on a proposal to transfer the existing area of two constituency areas (i.e. Tin Hau (C16) and Victoria Park (C18)) from Eastern District to Wan Chai District. The relevant document could be found here.

The public consultation on the demarcation of the boundary between Eastern and Wan Chai District was launched from 19 July to 17 August 2013, including a forum held on 31 July 2013 to gauge the views of district personalities on the matter.

Having carefully considered the views received, the Government proposed that the two constituency areas be transferred from Eastern District to Wan Chai District from the fifth-term District Councils (1 January 2016) onwards. The Legislative Council passed the District Councils Ordinance (Amendment of Schedules 1 and 3) Order 2013 on 22 January 2014 to implement the proposal.
