International organisations limited to states

 

These are organisations which allow only sovereign states to join as full members.  As the HKSAR does not qualify to be a full member, representatives of the HKSARG participate in these organisations, in accordance with Article 152 of the Basic Law, as members of delegations of the People's Republic of China, or in such other capacity as may be permitted by the Central People's Government and the international organisation concerned. Organisations limited to states are usually the authorities in their area of specialty and some are established by international treaties or conventions.
